This ranking comes from Eurochange, a UK travel portal, who rated airports on various factors. BER scored high marks in three key areas:

  • On-time flights: 80% of flights arrive and depart on schedule.
  • Family-friendly: BER has a great play area to keep the little ones entertained.
  • Affordable beer: Compared to other European airports, enjoying a pre-flight beer at BER won’t break the bank.

While the construction project was a national joke for many years, it seems things are finally running smoothly at BER.

But BER isn’t the only German airport getting praise. Munich and Hamburg also ranked highly, taking the second and fourth place spots respectively. Both airports were noted for their punctuality, affordable beer, and good selection of shops (except Hamburg which scored a bit lower on shops).
